- 1½ years old
- Arrived 24th March, 2019
- Fostered in Macclesfield
Chocolate and Shy arrived with us in March. The owners were moving and couldn’t take the piggies with them. We were told they were shy and nippy but they are very friendly piggies – a bit unsure at first but their love of food and inquisitive nature soon got the better of them.
Chocolate is definitely the boss and takes charge of sleeping arrangements! They are house piggies but in the warm weather they have been out on the lawn, in a run. They absolutely love being outside and will happily graze away on the grass. One day was a bit windy and they weren’t sure what to make of that. They ran into their house whenever there was a gust of wind! They like to play tug of war with lettuce leaves and carrots. They would make great pets. It is very entertaining to see them both play together. Each has their own distinct personality.
13th May both have now been neutered.
They will require a minimum 5ft x 3ft C&C or indoor hutch with a play area/run attached, plenty of enrichment and with access to the outdoors in good weather We do not rehome guinea pigs to live entirely in a hutch or cage as this does not provide sufficient space or enrichment to express their natural behaviour.
