Misty – Staffordshire Bull Terrier

  • Female
  • 6 years old
  • Arrived 16th December, 2021
  • Fostered in Bramhall, Stockport

Misty had spent a couple of months at Chesterfield RSPCA centre but wasn’t coping with being in kennels so she was networked into one of our lovely foster homes.

She’s a great dog; affectionate and friendly after a timid welcome; she absolutely loves to play and she is really good with other dogs. She is on the boisterous side in that she needs to learn that not everyone likes to be jumped at with affection – bless her, she is very enthusiastic and she just loves life.  In her foster home, after a few nights of toilet accidents through being anxious and unsure, she soon got into the routine of things.

Misty came in via Inspectors from a home where she was neglected, along with other animals and the owner couldn’t manage the numbers. Misty had very sore patches, fur loss and sore ears so she was on treatment and now all is resolved. A monthly course of good quality mite and flea preventative would normally prevent issues like these as Staffies can be prone to flea and mite allergies. She also had mammary development indicative of having puppies in the past. She has been vaccinated and will be neutered shortly then once recovered will be ready for adoption. Misty is looking for an adult only home. She’s had very limited experience with children. She’s lovely, but can be quite nervous/anxious of meeting new people at first and when in unfamiliar situations. She will need to meet her new adopters a couple of times before adoption.

Misty has lived with cats and a dog and we feel she could do so again if they are friendly and sociable!

So, all in all, a good catch is our Misty!
