Moe – Pekin Bantam Cockerel

  • 6 months old
  • Arrived 2nd September, 2020
  • Fostered in Macclesfield

Moe’s owner contacted us as he couldn’t keep Moe because of the loud Cock a Doodle doo’ing! The owner had two cockerels, one of which was taken by another rescue. With having many neighbours it just wasn’t appropriate.

Moe has been health checked by an exotics vet which Moe’s owner paid for. Moe is a friendly boy and is so incredibly colourful!

Moe needs to go to a home where there are hens and a secure coop/set up where he can be put away at night to keep him safe from predators; initially kept separate and then slowly introduced to his hens.

Cockerels are lovely to have, they have so many qualities and serve an important role, it’s such a shame that most are unwanted. Because cockerels are vocal, a rural location is a must or a very large garden, housed far enough away from other residents.

He is not to be used for breeding as we will just be adding to the problem of unwanted cockerels.
Adoption fee is £20.
