Nimbus is absolutely beautiful!

She came from a small property housing over 50 rabbits, being kept individually in very small cages with no hides, or enrichment.

Upon arrival, she weighed 1.97kg, with a body condition score of 2/9 and we clipped her long overgrown nails. She was too underweight to vaccinate.  Nimbus has since been receiving much needed TLC and she’s putting on weight nicely, last weight check 2.26kg.  She has now been vaccinated and micorchipped. She has a cataract in one eye so vision is lacking but her left eye is fine. She is looking for a neutered older chap to live with.

We don’t know if she’s neutered or not but because of her age we don’t want to put her through an operation.

As the photos show, Nimbus is loving her new surroundings!

Notes from her fosterer:

She loves her food, she’s confident and will come up and investigate and take food of me but like lots of rabbits doesn’t like being handled but will allow a little stroke. Her litter training is spot on so she’s very clean. She’s still very active for an elderly rabbit and is often in her run sitting on a log. She’s also a good hay eater.  Blind in one eye, she needs easy access to her main shelter.

Outdoor housing requirement is a minimum 6ft shed/house or 6 x 2 x 2 hutch with a minimum of 60 sq. feet of secure covered floor space, normally a run and it has to be 3ft in height attached securely to the rabbit house, with ideally but not mandatory, the freedom to a secure garden/alternative area for stimulation; exercise, space and enrichment are most important!

Indoor housing requirement is a minimum of 60 square feet of floor space 24/7.
