Summer – Crossbred

  • Fostered in Stockport

Summer is here! Isn’t she just stunning? She spent a couple of weeks at Chesterfield rehoming centre but was extremely distressed so we offered to take her into one of our lovely foster homes where she is much happier.

She came in via RSPCA Inspectors; three dogs (one kept separate as the dogs didn’t get along) had been left behind by their owner but things weren’t black and white. Summer has come from a domestic violence home. So she can be nervous of new people but very quickly does become friends! Here’s a few words from her fosterers:

Summer is a very relaxed and perfectly trained house dog. She does not climb on any furniture or chew anything she is not supposed to. We also have not had a single mess incident inside the house. She is good with people and dogs generally though can get possessive over food around other dogs.

She loves to be fussed over and won’t ever leave your side if she has a choice! Equally, she is independent enough to be left at home without causing any trouble. She is great walking on a longer lead and doesn’t pull too much however on a short leash she will pull and has been known to lead bite out of frustration. She regularly goes for longer walks 1hr+ and can obey basic commands, sit, wait, stay, yes, cross.

Overall a very well-tempered dog that would make a great addition to any home.

She has been vet checked and vaccinated. She’ll be spayed shortly. She can get a bit stiff after a walk or a sleep but the vets have checked her joints with no issues found.
