This is such a sad situation for Tess whose owner has terminal cancer and has been in hospital for a long time. She has been on her own in the property for a very long time with relatives visiting from Lancashire to Leeds to see to her. The situation was reported to the RSPCA. Tess is described as bombproof with people! She had not been out of the house for a long time.
Tess is a very friendly girl who loves to be with people. Tess is very playful and enjoys running after a ball and then doing lots of zoomies! Tess is very food motivated so this will help with her training. Tess has spent too long in kennels and was not coping at all so she went to a foster home 14th August.
She will need an owner with a home in a very quiet area to suit her needs, who can help her feel safe and relaxed in her new home. No children and no other pets. Tess really is a joy to be around and will make a wonderful companion once settled in her new home but it will take time.
A few words from her fosterer:
Tess is an absolute dream in the home. She became accustomed to her new environment very quickly and was soon asking for strokes and cuddles by placing her paw on you. She’s a very gentle dog in the home and will sit patiently next to you waiting for attention and will come and cuddle up next to you in an evening. She loves to play, especially with squeaky toys and will rarely be seen without her favourite ball in her mouth. Tess is very good with other people in the home and greets them very excitably and wants to play. She’ll have a mad 5 minutes and then chills out ready to take in all of the attention. Tess isn’t overly comfortable with being outdoors unless it’s a quite area, she’s not keen on other dogs (she will pull to get to them but can be a bit mouthy/snappy). She isn’t keen on road walks when there is traffic/moving vehicles. She is just a dog that wants lots of love and attention and her new owners will be lucky to have her!
