We realise not everyone is in a position to adopt a companion, so why not take a look at our virtual adoption scheme …..

Those eyes will make you swoon!

Back in 2023 Dora came into our care and in January 2024 she was adopted. Sadly, due to health reasons, we’ve since been asked to rehome Dora but she’s staying in situ while we find her a new loving home.

Dora’s description from 2023 which still applies although she has had training and come on leaps and bounds:

Meet Dora – a delightful blend of sweetness and cuteness captured perfectly in her photos. Despite not being a puppy, Dora charms everyone with her youthful energy, enjoying cosy sofa moments and bedtime cuddles. Her warm greetings make you feel like the best human she’s ever met, a trait that extends to her canine companions, where she exudes confidence with a tail in full swing.

While Dora already knows basic commands, a bit of training will refine her manners, especially in curbing her enthusiasm to jump up out of sheer joy. Treats are her weakness, which will make training a positive experience. Although she hasn’t been tested off-lead, Dora boasts impressive recall skills on a training lead. On walks, her excitement doesn’t translate into pulling – she’s a joy to stroll with.

Dora is a true angel, and her ideal day involves showering immense love. A fortunate family awaits the opportunity to welcome this fantastic, affectionate companion into their home.

Dora was rescued from horrific living conditions. She was kept in a room full of slurry. It slopped up against the skirting boards. She was very underweight too. Weighing 14 kg on arrival, she is now over 19kg – her deal weight 20 kg.

We don’t believe she’s been around children or lived with other animals so ideally a home where she has company for the most part.

We’ve had her microchipped, spayed and vaccinated. She is on ½ tablet of Apoquel once a day (maintenance dose) 1 Antihistamine tablet twice a day and 1 teaspoon of Borage oil with her breakfast. She is on a grain free diet to help allergies/ears.

Dora’s lead walking seems to have clicked too, gravy bones a big incentive. Dora’s passes dogs really well in general, only barks if a dog has a go at her..at times she’s so intent on the gravy bones in my pocket she doesn’t even really acknowledge them. With more introductions we’re sure she’ll make doggie friends.
