We realise not everyone is in a position to adopt a companion, so why not take a look at our
virtual adoption scheme …..
Sunna, Nordic for sunshine, who was originally nameless, came into our care with five other rabbits, a crowded multi animal, most loose, environment in a conservatory, horrific conditions, there were deceased baby rabbits, Sunna was kept in a tiny hutch, with no way of exercising at all, so she was very obese and her nails were very overgrown. There is a prosecution pending.
Sunna arrived rather overweight weighing in at 3.5kg originally! Because she had been fed a poor diet and kept in a hutch. Now that she’s being fed hay, pellets and fresh veggies, she’s now approaching a more healthy size. She loves her toys and often throws around her jingly ball toy. She’s a friendly girl and comes up to say hello. She’s is inquisitive and is keen to ‘help’ when her pen is being cleaned out but is a little unsure about being touched just yet.
She has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, she’s received mite and flea treatment, had her overgrown nails trimmed and her teeth shaved as they were uneven. She’s now ready to find a new husbun!
Indoor housing requirement is a minimum of 60 square feet of floor space 24/7.
Outdoor housing requirement is a minimum 6ft shed/house or 6 x 2 x 2 hutch with a minimum of 60 sq. feet of secure covered floor space, normally a run and it has to be 3ft in height attached securely to the rabbit house, with ideally but not mandatory, the freedom to a secure garden/alternative area for stimulation; exercise, space and enrichment are most important!
