The beautiful Lady in came in via our RSPCA Inspectors. The owner is being prosecuted but Lady is signed over for rehoming. There was also a rottweiler, both extremely emaciated and living in filthy conditions. Both were close to death – Lady pulled through but her companion didn’t and had to go over Rainbow Bridge, peacefully with people who cared. The Inspector said they’ve not seen a dog so thin and still be alive.
Lady is one of the dogs for whom we rent kennels; we also cover all veterinary and behavioural costs, as we don’t have our own facilities. She really is very shy and nervous and needs time to get used to new people, she’s led a very cruel life, signs of being hit, very avoidant of being touched, but she’s slowly healing, as she’s much more comfortable with her carers, play bowing even! So, it goes without saying she needs a person to completely understand this and very slowly introduce her to a new way of life.
