Meet Socks – A Sweet, Senior Cat Looking for a Loving Home

Ten reasons to adopt a senior cat! https://catchat.org/adopt-an-older-cat

Socks is a wonderful senior cat with a gentle heart and plenty of love to give. She’s looking for a calm, caring home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort. Socks has a calm, affectionate nature and would make a lovely companion for someone looking for a relaxed and loyal friend.

Very sadly Socks’ owner died and she was left to fend for herself, but her neighbours came to the rescue! They had been feeding her for a few weeks before we were contacted for help.

We have lots of information about Socks, she was a very much loved cat. She loves the outdoors, she’s spritely and active and can jump high fences! Unfortunately she doesn’t like men which is a shame…she hisses at them, so we’re looking for a female only household with no small children and other pets. She loved snoozing in the sun in the conservatory and had her own chair.

Socks is a lovely, friendly older girl who loves nothing more than a snuggle on your lap. She’s very affectionate and will begin to drool with contentment. When she arrived, she wasn’t litter trained because she had always been able to go outside but with a lot of patience and time, she has now got the idea!

Socks became constipated after her arrival, she was a very good girl at the vets, there was quite a bit of poo in her bowel so they did an enema and 10 mins later she obliged! She is on lactulose twice daily because she gets constipated. This should improve when she can get outside and move around more.

We have veterinary history up to 2022, she was well cared for till that time. We have microchipped and vaccinated Socks, she also needed a dental resulting in two extractions, she has a few missing teeth from a historic dental.

We’re hoping to find a forever home where Socks will be cherished and given all the love she deserves. If you think you could offer this special lady a warm, comfortable home, we’d love to hear from you..
