We realise not everyone is in a position to adopt a companion, so why not take a look at our
virtual adoption scheme …..
The story of Sophie (mum) and Phoenix (kitten) is one of triumph over adversity.
Sophie came into RSPCA care with her tiny one day old kitten; when the kitten was 10 days old, they came to one of our lovely foster homes; she was a very nervous and very scared mummy at this point. Multiple cats were extremely neglected in all ways, flea infestation the worst the vet has seen in her entire career, sadly one had to be euthanised.
During her time with us, Sophie has settled her nerves and has learnt she doesn’t need to be scared all the time. She still has some work to do on her confidence, but she is slowly getting there and has found her voice. Sophie loves to receive a fuss and will happily roll over for her tummy to be stroked. She has also learnt it’s ok to play and enjoys a good playtime with all her favourite toys. She has been a fantastic mum to Phoenix, but now its time for Sophie to find a home to call her own.
She is ok with other cats although she doesn’t really interact with them so a pet free home would be best with no young children. Ideally Sophie would find a quiet calm home where she can receive all the love and affection she deserves with people who understand she needs a little time to grow in confidence to become the beautiful, loving companion she was meant to be. She will be neutered shortly but we’re accepting enquiries in the meantime. .
